Last summer we had a few pots with veggies on the porch. This year we expanded to a small raised bed garden in addition to some pots. Until yesterday I had been "harvesting" things one at a time; a single green pepper, a single but beautiful Japanese eggplant, etc. Then yesterday when I went to pick the sweet banana peppers I found two cucumbers* and a zucchini which I swear was finger-sized two days ago. We definitely have a lot to learn but it is a start and it makes me so happy that we have our own vegetables.
*The cucumbers look less sickly in person; I have simply not figured out the new camera.
